- Peter Armstrong is recently retired after working for 25 years in the IT industry. Peter was a Corporate Strategist for BMC Software, Inc., with specific responsibility for the increasingly important domain of how business and information technology need to work together. Peter helped to develop BMC's Business Service Management (BSM) strategy and was in the team responsible for building the company’s 3-year strategy plan. He was also responsible for educating BMC Software’s customers and employees, the media and analysts about the company’s vision and strategy. In addition to evangelising, Peter worked closely with the company’s development labs to keep them informed on customer plans and activities, particularly in the non-US marketplace, thus helping to ensure that the solutions they delivered were pertinent worldwide both today and in the future. Peter joined BMC Software in 1986, after ten years with IBM, where he was the Country Specialist for IMS, specialising in disaster recovery. During his tenure with BMC Software, he helped set up the UK office, led the European Specialist Group and helped establish the BMC Software Business School. Peter is based in the UK. He is a renowned speaker, and is well known throughout the world as a presenter, educator and author. His hobbies include golf and music.
